George County High School has many talented students,whether it’s singing or playing an instrument. One student plays an instrument that’s not very common in today’s world.
Freshman Carter McMillan just so happens to be that one student . He plays the banjo,ukulele and guitar. He decided to play the banjo when his ukulele teacher passed away when he was about 10 years old so he had to find something else to do.The banjo was a success he learned how to play within a month and has now been playing for two years. He plays in a band called the TruNorth BlueGrass which is located in lucedale ms.
McMillan plays the five string ibanez banjo,which plays every kind of music in the world.
The banjo is “fun and interesting to play” he said. People may find the banjo interesting because It has a unique sound that sets it apart from other instruments and has been an important part of American culture and music history.
