The Lady Rebels volleyball team made history in the 6A South State game on Oct. 16 against the Hancock Lady Hawks.
The Lady Rebels played a thrilling five sets, but unfortunately were defeated in a fifth set 15-13.
“It was really exciting,” Sophomore Cambree Passeau said.
Leading up to the South State game, the volleyball team swept West Jones 3-0 in the first round of playoffs.
For the second round, the team hosted its first playoff game against Long Beach. They defeated the Lady Bearcats
3-2.
“Long Beach is a big rival. They needed to be put in their place,” Senior Natalie Jones said.
The Lady rebels were the first team in George County to go to South State, and they also hope to host South State next year.
“It was the best moments of my life, and I’m very proud,” Coach Laney Christian said.
Overall the Lady Rebels are proud and had much fun playing on this year’s volleyball team and states that they can do things they weren’t expecting to do.
