As juniors and seniors begin planning for prom on April 13th at The Venue at the Bakery, several students are looking at the different styles for dresses and tuxes.
The trends for dresses this year are corset style, sequins, one of the main colors that people are doing is going to be a vibrant pink or a dark red. The theme for this prom is “Hollywood : Walking the Red Carpet.” Many students have already begun to get their dresses and tuxes.
Other students have not picked out their dress but are thinking ahead before buying a dress such as junior Zoe Blankenship. She states that when looking for a dress she will be thinking about what she likes in the dress but will be also looking at the prices.
“I just really want to find a dress that I’m really confident in,” Blankenship said.
Tuxedos have different styles each year this year boys are picking bow ties that will match the dress or tux of a date or friend. Senior Ji’marion Howze states that he will be wearing an all white tux with a pink bow tie.
“I had no idea what I wanted to wear,” Howze said.
Howze claims that he went in not knowing what he wanted but knew what the price range he had.
As students are buying dresses and tuxes they need to remember to buy their prom tickets. Tickets are on sale until March 22 with the prices of $50 for seniors and $65 for juniors.
Tickets can be purchased in junior class sponsors Kelly Hubbards and Anna Grace Cooley’s classrooms.
