The boys and girls track team have been practicing for the season. This year is different for the girls because they have a new coach, Lewis Brown.
When it comes to track practice so far, Brown states that it is looking better than he expected.
Brown is expecting his team to make it to competitions and compete, stating, “Make it to state, we’ll eat steak.”
Coach Terry Bradley is working with the boys to help them get into shape and get their techniques and fundamentals down.
Bradley is preparing the boys by figuring out who can do what, that being speed and distance running and finding out their jumps.
“Put them in the right spots so they can be successful,” Bradley said.
Last season, Junior Deuce Knight made it to the State Championship.
Coming off from last season, Knight is preparing to achieve that goal again by coming to practice and doing what he is told.
“Listen to what coach tells me,” Knight said.
He is also doing everything right and is getting plenty of rest to be his best self for track.
When it comes to advice for others wanting to achieve this goal, he advises players to have the right mind set.
“You’re gonna have bad days, but know you got to come out here and do what you got to do,” Knight said.
