During the day, digital media teacher Zachary Wilkins uses his voice to encourage and motivate his students to be the best version of themselves, but when class is over and papers have been graded, he uses his voice to entertain an audience, as lead singer in his band Penny Bomb.
Wilkins; a graduate of George County High School, Class of 2014. He has enjoyed coming back to high school as a teacher to share a subject he loves. He likes encouraging and spreading his knowledge with his students.
Wilkins has worked as a marching band teacher, construction worker and lead singer in a four member band he started, Penny Bomb.
Penny Bomb is an alternative rock, Indie pop with Southern roots . Members consist of Wilkins, Jaron Churchwell, Kolby Rester and Cory Dickison. Their music can be found on Spotify.
Wilkins has been a musician since he was younger. In seventh grade, he played in a band known as “Hush the Silence”. Their talent was recognized and they were signed on by a record label.
Not only is he musically talented, but also artistically involved. He has been creating art for as long as he can remember, but he also has been doing digital art for a few years now.
Wilkins other interest include being an animal lover. Back when he worked in construction.He often felt bad about leaving the frogs to be covered by the cement, so he grew fondness of the frogs he tried to move out of the cement’s way.
He loves to eat street tacos, because after a long and hard day of working in construction, he enjoyed nice tacos.
He also likes the hit anime show One piece. He says as an artist enjoys the story and the art, he loves the way that the characters grow and develop throughout the show’s long run.
He enjoys teaching and would love to spread the knowledge of digital media.
