As the homecoming court anxiously waits for Friday night’s ceremony, many are preparing and taking in all of the memories that will be made.

   The senior maids are Monica Arrington, Valeciah Cook, Skyler Dixon, Libbie Kate Slay, Jade Williams. Juniors maids are Ally Byrd, Ella Dean, Braylee Fountain, Halleigh Mixon. The sophomores’ maids are Andrea Bonetti, Laci Lamb, Anniston Mixon, Sophie Williams. Freshman maids are Katie Agent, Emma Kate Cochran, London Dawson, Darla Fairley.  

   This is senior homecoming maid Libbie Kate Slay’s first year of homecoming court. She is preparing in many different ways.

   “ I went out and got all my dresses and made all the hair and makeup  appointments.” Slay said         

   Slay is filled with so much excitement that it is becoming difficult to balance school work and the event.

   “It has been kind of hard because I eat, sleep and dream about it, but I do put time aside for family and school work.”

   Also sharing the first year excitement  junior Braylee Fountains is also very prepared for the event. 

   “I got my dress, got my car for the parade I basically just got everything, I’m ready”

   She is balancing school very well while having the responsibility of a homecoming maid 

   “I really just try to get my school work done first then everything after that’s my number one priority,” Fountain said. 

   Braylee says she is very honored to be a part of the homecoming court.

   “I’m really excited to represent my class,” she says 

   Sophomore Sophie Williams is also very honored since it is her first year being on homecoming court. 

   “I’m excited and very thankful for the opportunity, ” Williams says

   “We’re doing a lot of preparation for finding the car and dresses and small stuff like jewelry.” 

   Freshman Emma Kate Cochran is very prepared for her first year as homecoming maid.

   “I am very thankful and excited to represent my school and dress up nicely.” 

   “I am balancing school and homecoming by setting aside time at the end of the day to make sure I am all caught up on work before I go to sleep.”

   The court also participated in the annual parade on monday and were introduced at the homecoming pep rally. 

   The preparation of the court will be Friday beginning at 6:15 pm before the Rebels take on the Vancleave Bulldogs.
