George County High School is excited to have a new face to its teaching staff.
Joshua Santamore has transferred from George County Middle School to the high school this semester and is teaching Foundations of Biology first block and Physical Science second and third block.
After graduating D’Iberville High School Santamore received his associate degree at MGCCC and then his bachelor’s and master’s degree at USM. Not only has Santamore been teaching for nine years, he also has been coaching baseball for just as long.
Santamore has taught elementary PE at Perkinston Elementary, seventh and eighth grade science at George and Stone Counties, and Cyber Foundation l and ll at GCMS.
Outside of the classroom Santamore likes to cook and play video games. He also likes to collect baseball cards or just cool cards in general.
A random fact about him is that when he was in high school he competed in singing competitions. He also gets to spend time with his wife Hannah Santamore, who is also a teacher and works at the middle school.
A coach at Santamore’s high school inspired him to become a teacher. “I always looked up to him, and he motivated me in a way no other teacher did.” Santamore said.
Santamore encouraged his students with the wise words “Don’t be a moron.”
Santamore shared that he likes the high school because he feels like he connects with the students better rather than the middle school. “My coworkers are cool too,” Santamore added.
With his arrival, the school community is excited to welcome Santamore to their team.
