With it being Valentine’s Day, the nostalgia of our elementary school crushes is coming back to our memories. We’ve asked a few students to share their stories of their first crush.
“When I was in the fourth grade there was this chick… we were in the same class and everything… she told me that she liked me and stuff, and we dated in fourth grade, so it didn’t really count and then she dumped me for a pack of Skittles and a Jolly Rancher,” sophomore Easton Herndon said.
“When I was in the sixth grade I had this huge crush on a boy in my grade. I think he was held back like two years though because I was obsessed with that Conan Gray song ‘Heather.’ I got a hoodie from him because he just felt bad for me, so I wore the hoodie then he asked for it back and was like ‘You know I never actually liked you I just wanted you to feel better.’ I cried my eyes out for two weeks,” sophomore Brently Smathers said.
“I had this crush throughout all my elementary school years, and I was in third grade, and I was standing next to him in line. My sister was next to me, and his sister was next to me, and my sister tells him that I had a crush on him. He looks at me and he said ‘Do you have a crush on me?’ and I was like ‘Yeah’ and then he walks away from me… he never talked to me again,” freshman Addi Hodges said.
These next two students seem to have had a crush on the same girl that did not have such a positive outcome.
“I bumped into this girl in the hallway, and she was a baddie. She helped me off the floor and that’s basically it. I had a crush on her,” Freshman Paul O’Brien said.
“I was there too. I was the one who knocked him down. She came and jumped on me. I liked her ever since,” freshman Gage McKissick said.
Those were some interesting stories. We hope everyone has a great Valentine’s Day and that you don’t get your heart broken like some of these people did.
