New English teacher Hannah Santamore has moved up from the middle school, to the high school, and she is ready to make her classroom more than a learning space.
Santamore graduated from St. Martin High School in 2015. She later attended Southern Miss and graduated in 2019. This year she is now teaching an 11th grade English class and an 11th through 12th debate class.
Santamore has always wanted to be a teacher. Her history teacher inspired her as he was “so entertaining” and made sure his students knew he was “always there for them even outside of school.”
Santamore now gets to work with her husband and George County baseball coach Joshua Santamore. “Working with my husband is so much fun’’ Santamore said. She is happy to be a part of the George County High School. “Being at the high school, there is a little bit more freedom and more flexibility to work with students,” Santamore said. She hopes to expand new areas of teaching, as well as building strong relationships with her students. She plans to help students not just in education but in life. “My favorite thing about being a teacher is the ability to help my students even outside of the classroom,” Santamore said.
Other than working with her husband and making the classroom a safe space, she enjoys other hobbies such as reading, traveling, playing video games and cooking with her husband.
