Brown transitions from classroom to graduation coach

Graduation coach Brittany Brown has been in education for 10 years, but this is her first year to not be in the classroom.

Brown’s job at the high school is to oversee the transition of STAR academy, the graduation rate, credit recovery and enrollment. She has taught English and ELA for seventh and eighth grade. Her favorite memories from teaching would be when she taught STAR Academy.

“I feel incredibly blessed everyday to do what I do because I am surrounded by the best people,” Brown said.

She has a Bachelor’s degree in journalism from University of Southern Mississippi, a Master’s in education from William Carey and is currently working on special education leadership.

“I enjoy spending time with family and friends and taking road trips,” Brown said.

My biggest pet peeve is people who are rude.

“Kindness doesn’t cost a dime. You can always catch more flies with honey than with vinegar,” Brown said.
