The soccer season has officially begun.

The Lady Rebels opened the season by competing in a jamboree against OLA and St. Patrick scoring 3-1 against OLA and 1-1 against St Patrick. The girls have been working hard and practicing to come out on top this year.

“ Traditionally, the Lady Rebels have been an athletic physical team that was always defensively organized,” Coach Brittain Dean said.

Dean hopes to expand on the Lady Rebel’s defense this year.

They ended last year with a record 17-4-1 with a trip to the South State Championship.

The boys team made it to the first round of the state playoffs.

“ We had the best season in the last five years, we had a lot of goals and a lot of wins,” said Coach Tyler Williams

Williams says that their team is young because seven of their starters graduated, leaving more less experienced players.

Both Rebel soccer teams are playing this Wednesday at Pearl River Community College against West Harrison. The girls will play at 5:30 and the boys will play at 7:00.
