After an amazing season last year, with a record of 30-4 and winning the State Championship, the George County Lady Rebels are coming back this year ready to keep their title.
“I have a feeling we will make it all the way again because we have the same groups of girls, or almost the same group of girls we did last year so I have high hopes we’ll make it to state again,” senior Natalie Jones said.
All but three starters are back for this season. Some of these starters include Freshmen Peyton Collins and Kyleigh Howell, Sophomores Jordyn Bradley, Blakely Slay and Aryana Dixon, and Seniors Sidnee Beach and Natalie Jones.
The team has been practicing everyday till 5:00 to prepare for the upcoming season.
“Getting better at our weaknesses and perfecting our strengths,” Coach Kasey McCann said.
They have also been mentally preparing for this season and the stress to come.
“We’re more mentally prepared for pressure and targets,” said sophomore Jordyn Bradley.
The Lady Rebels will be playing in a jamboree on Saturday at Wayne County. They will also have a Mardi Gras tournament at Pearl River Community College on Monday and Tuesday. Their first home game on February 20th. Don’t forget to come out and show your support.
