Since her recent return, William Carey graduate Tina McDoniel is now teaching business; the class she has always desired to teach.

“ I just feel very excited and very blessed to be here,” McDoniel said.

McDoniel graduated from George County High School in 1987 and went on to graduate with her accounting degree from The University of Southern Mississippi. In the spring of 2020, she also graduated from William Carey with her Master’s degree in teaching.

Before returning to GCHS to teach business, McDoniel taught math for fourth, fifth and sixth grade. Previously, she has taught Algebra I at the high school.

McDoniel chose to teach at the high school because she feels as if it is “home.” To support her choice to come to the high school, she also uses the popular George County quote, “Once a Rebel, always a Rebel.”

McDoniel will have been married for twenty six years September of 2020. She has three children and loves spending time with her family when she is not at work.

One of McDoniel’s current pet peeves is technology. Not only does she not favor using Google Meet but she is also looking forward to the day where she can have all of her students in her classroom.
