Parton releases Christmas album in 30 years

   The year got a little bit brighter when Dolly Parton released her new Christmas album “A Holly Dolly Christmas” on Oct. 2. 

   This holiday album is Parton’s first holiday album that has been released in 30 years. The album has a festive collection with 12 songs including some of the timeless Christmas songs we all know and love, as well as a few original songs from Parton herself. Some of her songs feature incredible duets with some of her family and close friends including Michael Bublé, Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley Cyrus, Jimmy Fallon and Willie Nelson, also a very special song with her brother, Randy Parton.

   The number one song currently is “Cuddle Up, Cozy Down Christmas” this song features Michael Bublé and has a total of 246k views on Youtube. There is also an official music video for this song that is very popular on the internet. With 210k views “Mary, Did You Know?” is the second most popular song in the album. Now the third favorite song was close between “Holly Jolly Christmas” and “All I Want for Christmas is You” featuring Jimmy Fallon both songs had a little over 173k views. 

   The one song that really caught everyone’s attention was the song that Parton sang with her brother Randy Parton. Together the two sang “You are My Christmas.”  

   Her new songs have also been featured in her new movie “Christmas on the Square” that was released last month. The movie also stars Parton herself as an angel. It is available to watch on Netflix for free. Music listeners can also purchase the album from several different places, one being her online store.
